We are a writing and tutoring center for kids connecting a diverse population of young writers and learners with a vibrant community of adult volunteers in Austin.  Austin Bat Cave is a non-profit organization and all our programs are free.


 


Upcoming and Ongoing Events


From A to Zine with Austin Monthly:

Feb. 11 at 4-6pm. Students will help create a feature for the magazine’s April issue!

The Story Department: Feb. 11, 8pm, @ Whip In— Monthly storytelling series. Theme is “Foolish Love.”

Flash Fiction workshop Feb. 27 at 2-4pm. Taught by Elizabeth Crane.

   Volunteer Orientation- Feb. 27 at noon. For new volunteers.


Screenwriting Workshop: Feb. 18; 4-5pm. Students will start their own screenplay and find examples in popular Pixar movies.

At ABC, we understand that public school teachers are the hardest-working people in town. In all our programs, we strive to be a resource, mobilizing volunteers to help teachers accomplish what they might not be able to accomplish on their own.
